Mr. Michael Holley is an international teacher here at SCCSH. He has been with SCCSH for 7 years now. Overall, Mr. Holley has been teaching since the year 2000, when he completed his student teaching in the USA. In the past, he has taught social studies, science, E.F.L., and English in the U.S.A., South Korea, and China.
Mr. Holley earned a bachelor’s degree from www.rio.edu and a master’s degree from www.wustl.edu. He holds degrees in secondary education, social science, and U.S. law. On top of that, Mr. Holley also has a 120-hour TEFL and holds a teaching license from the state of Ohio to teach grades seven to twelve.
In terms of pedagogy, the students will experience a mixed approach, including direct instruction, role play, theme-based projects, and/or group work. In addition to learning about Canada and other topics in Social Studies, the goals this year are to improve the four domains of each student: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. For the writing classes, the goal will be to help students write coherent paragraphs and essays.
